About meI would like to give you a little history about myself and my family. My husband, Dan who works in the Phone Industry and I have been married since May of 1982. We have one son, Bobby who is an Electrician, and is married to Tracy that also runs a Licensed Child Care Home; they live in Highlands Ranch as well. They have one daughter, Abigail, (Abby), born 10/2006. My background was actually in Secretarial work and banking. However, I decided to leave the corporate world to stay home and take care of Bobby, when he was almost four years old. In doing so, I also wanted to provide a safe and loving environment for other families to bring their children. I know how difficult it is to leave your children with someone who is not related to them. I faced the same dilemma with my son when he was six months old. Being able to provide peace of mind and confidence to parents that their children are well taken care of and loved just as if they were in their own home is what I hope to continue to accomplish as a child care provider.
In January of 1992, I was chosen by the Work and Family Resource Center as one of two mentors for Arapahoe County to aid newly licensed daycare providers in getting started in their newly chosen profession. I was a Senior Provider Partner for the Arapahoe County Family childcare Association for 8 years. From June 1993 - June 1996 I was the Zip Code Referral for 80122. I also held the position of Referral Coordinator for Arapahoe County from 6/30/93 - 6/30/96. Now that I live in Douglas County, I have become involved with The Douglas County Child Care Association, and have been the Membership Director, Newsletter Editor and Education Coordinator for Douglas County (Highlands Ranch, Castle Rock and Parker areas) and just recently was handed back over the books for the referral for the Highlands Ranch area. I do like to stay busy and on top of things. | Hours of Operation I am open Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. My home is licensed for an ”Experienced Childcare Provider License” and can have up to nine children, ages newborn (6 weeks) to 13 years old. Goal
I believe in taking a professional approach in what I can offer the children. I will provide a licensed child care home in compliance with the Colorado Child Care Regulations. I will work to keep abreast of current information on child care and Early Childhood Education. I am active in continuing my education through workshops, conferences and in-services through various state and national child care organizations. I am also very involved in the Douglas County Child Care Association. I have been the Referral for the Highlands Ranch area, Membership Coordinator, Newsletter Editor, and Education Coordinator for Douglas County.
